THE MONUMENT PROJECT
Monuments are coming down. What comes next?
What does a monument to justice look like?
And who decides?
Founded by Harvard College students, The Monument Project strives to interrogate public memory, cultivate public imagination, and envision a more just future. We began in 2020 as a social media initiative and have now focused our efforts on a large-scale 2022 participatory art installation at Harvard University entitled, "If These Bricks Could Speak." We seek to engage students in reflecting on both institutional and individual identity and memory.
